FAQ ABOUT MY ART

For my illustrations, I use my beloved iPad Pro with the amazing Procreate program. I then print out all stickers on my Canon and finish the cut on my Cricut Explore Air 2.

Yep! I draw every illustration and make every sticker with my own two paws. All my apparel merch is produced by the online store Threadless.

I try my best to reduce my creative waste while still making art that people can enjoy. As you probably already heard, plastic is not good for our planet. But, did you know that normal vinyl stickers you see everywhere are made entirely out of plastic? And it doesn’t stop there, they are then sealed with a UV and waterproof coating which also is plastic. A normal sticker is literally a piece of plastic sealed with even more plastic.

But why do people use vinyl stickers? Well, plastic is cheap to make, so vinyl stickers are a very inexpensive way to create art. They’re also very durable and can last a long time out in the open exposed to the elements. But this durability is horrible for our environment because when the plastic in the stickers finally does break down, it becomes what is called micro-plastics. These are small bits of plastic which are small enough to invade our drinking water and also into everything we consume. Yuck!

That is why I have decided to use paper for my stickers. But not just any paper. I use a premium photographic inkjet paper that displays wonderfully rich, vibrant colors and has significantly less plastic in it. Is the paper I use completely plastic free? Sadly, no as hardly anything is plastic free anymore. But I feel that having a sticker made with just a little bit of plastic is better than a sticker that is completely made out of plastic. The downside of my paper stickers is that they are not as durable as vinyl nor UV and waterproof. But with a little bit of care, a paper sticker will last a long time for you to enjoy.

I am always on the lookout for better ECO friendly options to create my art with and will keep everyone posted on my findings. If you have any suggestions, please contact me and I would love to hear all about them.  🙂

In addition to choosing paper over plastic, all my art is printed with remanufactured ink cartridges which I then recycle back for the cartridges to be refilled. Using remanufactured ink cartridges instead of buying brand new cartridges every time conserves a lot of rubber, plastic, steel and aluminum that goes to producing a new cartridge. Plus it keeps plastic from going to our landfills.

Every sticker is carefully packaged in an FDA certified eco-friendly compostable bag. I also include a postcard printed on ECO friendly paper in the sticker bag to help minimize any bending issues during shipping. So instead of creating an insert that would be tossed immediately open receiving the sticker which just creates more waste, you have a free postcard you can use instead to send to your loved ones to help spread the word.

And lastly, I use 100% recycled envelopes to send your stickers in.

Reduce, recycle, reuse are important to me. If you have any other ideas that could assist me in becoming even more ECO friendly, please contact me and let me know. I’d love to hear from you. :-

I find inspiration in everything that makes me laugh. If an idea makes me chuckle, then I do my best to create that feeling for everyone. I am a big lover of geek culture, which includes: video games, sci-fi, fantasy, movies, Disney cartoons and Anime. I also love animals, fluffy kitties, dinosaurs and unicorns. I also love to draw about the stress of living with multiple chronic diseases because sometimes all you can do is just laugh when your body just doesn’t want to work. 🙂

No. Because of my health being unpredictable, I can’t handle the extra workload of fulfilling a custom illustration order. I want to keep my illustrations as a fun escape that I can work on when health permits.

FAQ ABOUT YOUR STICKERS

I have pre-lifted every sticker I make and drawn an arrow on the back showing where you can peel the sticker easily. In order to peel my stickers, have the front side of the sticker face away from you and peel back on the paper where the arrow is pointing for easier peeling. See example image below.

Threadless does ship internationally. To find out if they ship to your country, place an item in your cart, select “View Cart”, and then “Check out!”. In the first checkout step- Shipping Info- select the ‘Country’ pull-down menu. If your country is included in that list, then they do ship to you! If your country is not included, unfortunately, you won’t be able to place an order. In this case, I would suggest having a friend from another country order for you and forward the shipment to you.
